I first would like to welcome my fellow salt water enthusiasts to my site.
My name is Greg, and I have been maintaining saltwater aquariums for about 20 years. I started out with a fish only system, however, I always liked the beauty of a reef tank. Everyone I spoke with and everything I had read indicated that it was a lot of work and expense to maintain a reef tank. This is not necessarily true.
Don’t get me wrong. It can be that way, however, that depends on the type of coral you wish to keep as well as the set up that you need to maintain them.
I will discuss these things in future posts, but for now, I am saying do not be discouraged by anyone and research it for yourself. Reef tanks are a beautiful natural display of our coral reefs that everyone can enjoy.
Thank you for taking the time to browse my site. I would love to connect with fellow reefers and aquarists. Feel free to introduce yourself in the comments or join me on any of my social media accounts.
Greg is the writer and creator of fragensteinreef blog. He got involved in the saltwater tank hobby in the early 2000's, starting with a 46 gallon tank given to him as a gift. He is a self taught aquarist, and has recently expanded his hobby from a fish only tank to coral reef tank.
